Granny has actually known how to use a computer for a long time. When I was 13, my family had one of the first kinds of personal computers, a Texas Instruments. As you may remember---or not---you had to type in the program code, line by line by line, until finally...a little stick figure would dance for two seconds. Everyone would laugh and then say, "Do it again!"
Granny has always been a gamer. She introduced me to Lemmings and she let me play Leisure Suit Larry with my boyfriend---ironically also named Larry.
When she moved a few years ago, she wanted to stay in touch, so she got an email address. That's when the fun really began. She doesn't email to ask how I'm doing or what's up...she just forwards every crazy email she gets to the whole family.
My first thought was, I should respond. My next thought was, I should write the most perfect rebuttal and forward that to everyone. I finally decided anonymous ranting on a blog is a much better idea.
